League Play

The Amherstview Men's League began Tuesday, May 24. The regular season will run for 12 straight weeks and be followed by playoffs. League play will take place on Tuesdays and can be played anytime during the day or evening. It is preferred that you play with at least one other person in the league to attest to your score, but you may play with a non-league member if that's all that is available. No solo players will be allowed to submit a score.

League Format

The league will consist of teams of approximately 14-15 players. Each team will be assigned a team captain responsible for naming the team and drafting the players to be on the team. Although you will be assigned to a team, you are not required to play with your teammates and can play with anyone participating in the league or not in the league if that's all that is available. The teams are strictly for scoring purposes, which is important as we are trying to build camaraderie within the league.

Each week two gross scores and three net scores will count towards the overall team score. This format allows for players to post their own scores while still keeping the focus on the team aspect. The regular season is a team vs. team format; teams will receive 10 points for a win, five points for a tie, and zero points for a loss. The program awards one participation point for every player that shows up regardless of their performance on the golf course. A maximum of 10 participation points per team will be awarded each week. This feature will hopefully encourage team members to come out and participate and support their team.

Our online scoring program automatically updates the individual scores, team scores, and standings and maintains each player's separate Men's League Handicap. This is all done in real-time. This is great for a couple of reasons:

  1. You can sit around the clubhouse and watch the results of your team and see how they are making out, or check results from home. You can see how you did when compared to the entire field.
  2. If there is a scoring mistake on our end, you will notice this right away, and we can make the necessary changes.

The League website will be published in the clubhouse once the league begins.

Throughout the season, we will be holding feature nights for our Men's League. These nights will incorporate food specials from "At The Turn," closest to the pin contests etc.

Weekly Cost:

As a member of Amherstview Golf Club, there is no fee for your round of golf. As a non-member, the weekly rate for the 9-holes is $20.00, with the option of playing 18 holes for $35. Tee Times

The Amherstview Golf Club Men's League is a 9-hole league. Tee times will be blocked each league day from 5 - 6 pm, you must contact the pro shop to book one of these times. If you wish to play outside of this time slot, you should book your own tee time. We cannot guarantee that tee times will be available before 5:30 pm each league day as other events may be scheduled. We will try to accommodate everyone as best as possible, as league participation is very important to us.

In the event of questionable weather, a minimum of 50 percent of the field will need to submit scores for the week to count. If 50 percent of the field does not submit scores, we will deem Men's Night a rainout and the week will be discarded. Please make every effort to play as it is difficult at times to judge the weather changes through the day and therefore makes it hard to determine whether to cancel or not.

Molson Monday League 2022

Current Standings - August 8, 2022

If all 28 teams return, their captain (only) must commit to Joe Rishaur via email - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., no later than April 25, 2022, with a team name, four main player names plus one alternate (optional) and desired tee time (if changed from the previous year, I will do my best to accommodate).

Although many teams play 18 holes, the league counts for 9 holes only (except holidays, 18 hole scramble) and we will have a few more back 9 starts this year.

At the Turn will be operating out of the kitchen this year (same as pre-covid) and will provide meal AFTER your round has completed Please be advised, the last plated service meal will be 8:30 pm so that will give the last team that is playing 9 holes only ample time to eat. If your team decides to play on, your meal will be available at the bar.

Depending on your tee time, it will determine whether you will get 18 holes in before dark or not. The reason I mention this is if you pay for 9 holes and decide to continue on, you must report to the pro shop prior to playing your second 9 holes. Either way, if you have a riding cart it must be in by dusk, not dark. I am very serious about this, if there is even one incident of ignoring this rule, your team will lose cart privileges for the remainder of the season.

Tee times will commence at 2 pm with the last time available being 5:30 pm.

The League is full for this season.

$100 per team

  • Non Members-
$43 includes 18 holes walking, medium basket of range balls, meal provided by At The Turn, specialty hole prizes and weekly 50/50 draw. $38 for 9 holes
  • Members of AGC- $18

$30 for 18 holes ($15 per rider)
$20 for 9 holes ($10 per rider)
Note-single rider fee- $25 for 18 holes, $15 for 9 holes

This is a quick overview of how we will be scoring the Monday Molson League. Each team will play in a best-ball format, the player with the lowest score on each hole will be recorded. Scorecards must be dropped off at the pro shop after nine holes. This is a nine-hole event. All scorecards must be completed with a total and team name.

The handicap will be calculated by the convenor. Each team will have a handicap according to the standings from the previous week. The team highest in the standings will hold a one handicap. The second highest team will have a two handicap, and so on. All teams in tenth place or higher will have a ten handicap.

The lowest net score will win the week with ten points. Second place will win nine points, third place 8 points, fourth place 7 points and fifth place will win 6 points. The remainder of the teams will win five points.

All specialty holes winners will receive 3 points for their team.

Each holiday Monday will be an 18-hole scramble and points will be awarded the same as a regular week without any handicap being calculated.

Have a great season everyone and enjoy Kingston’s Premiere Men’s League.

Once the league is finalized, I will contact captains with more information and will also post tee times for each team on this page.
